Reservations can be made at our Newberg Bed and Breakfast either online or by phone. Every effort is made to keep online reservations current, but occasionally – actually, super rarely – the actual availability may differ from what is shown. In that instance, we will contact you with alternative arrangements.
Your reservation will be held with your credit card. Once at the Bed and Breakfast, you may pay for your stay with a credit card, check or cash.
Cancellations require a 7 day notice prior to your date of arrival for refund. If a cancellation is within 7 days and we cannot fill the room you will be responsible for room charges. Shortening your stay is considered a cancellation. Multiple room reservations of 3 or more require 30 day cancellation notice.
Check in is between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. Special arrangements can be made for late arrivals.
Check-out is at 11 a.m.
Children 12 years and older are welcome. However, our rooms are double occupancy only and cannot accommodate extra beds or people.

Q. Do you have any rooms with 2 Queen beds?
A. No, of the five rooms we have, four of our rooms have one Queen bed and our one suite has a King size bed. Each room has a maximum occupancy of two people.
Q. Do you have alternatives to goose-down bedding?
A. All our pillows are non-down, and the duvets are cotton, filled with felted wool.
Q. I really loved the sheets we had in our room. What kind are they and where can I order them?
A. They are Comphy sheets, available through B&Bs, Spas and online. You may order online directly, however we offer them at the same price and as a small business we get a wonderful little kickback, so we would love to place your order for you and have them shipped directly to you. Order while you are here or call or email us to order after your stay.
Q. Does every room have a balcony and a view?
A. Four of our five rooms have balconies and valley views. Our fifth room, the Oregon Trail room does not have either, but does have a lovely view of our beautiful waterfall and all guests always have access to our communal deck off the living room.
Q. How high up is the B&B?
A. We are perched 1000 feet up on Chehalem Mountain.
Q. Do you have a vineyard or winery?
A. We do not have a vineyard or winery. The winery with nearly the same name, Chehalem Winery, is not associated with us except as a great partner in the wine industry. We do grow plenty of fruit and vegetables that we use in our delicious breakfasts!
Q. Is smoking allowed at the B&B?
A. The house is smoke-free as is most of the property. However, at the opposite end of our parking lot, we have a covered area where responsible smoking is permitted.
Q. Can I grill on the balcony?
A. We do not permit grilling anywhere on the premises.
Q. Do I have my own refrigerator in my room?
A. We have a communal kitchenette in the living room area which includes a mini-fridge, microwave, silverware, plates, glasses, bottle-openers, etc. that you are welcome to use, but no fridge in the room.
Q. I have certain dietary restrictions and my partner is a picky eater. What do you serve for breakfast?
A. Our menu is constantly evolving and inspired by seasonality. We are known for our creative, homemade, multi-course gourmet breakfasts, so you won’t get your average meal of eggs, bacon and toast. We take into consideration all requests for foods to avoid from our guests. We request 24-hour notice and all breakfasts are prepared in one kitchen where cross-contamination is avoided, but is not guaranteed to be completely prevented.
Q. Is there a “Wine & Cheese Social Hour” at your B&B?
A. We do not have a social hour for guests as the majority of visitors are here for the activities that wine country offers and we find they often prefer a “wine break” between wine-tasting day trips and wine-pairing meals.
Q. We were thinking about booking the entire B&B for our group. How many people can stay?
A. Our B&B accommodates a maximum of 10 people (12 years of age & older), with 2 people maximum per room. We don’t usually book the B&B for these larger groups, however, due to a number of reasons. 1) Most of our communal spaces only allow for gatherings of up to 6 people. 2) There is no kitchen access, only use of a small communal kitchenette with a mini-fridge, microwave, eating utensils & glassware. 3) We cannnot serve breakfast to more than 6 people at one time; a larger group must split their breakfast times up.
Q. We were thinking of travelling with our friends and staying at your B&B. Can you accommodate our group?
A. In our experience, we find that a group of 6 or less is the best sized group that we can comfortably accommodate. A group of 8 must purchase the 5th room, even if it is not used. Please see our answer above regarding whole house reservations, for further explanation.
Q. Can you walk to wineries from the B&B?
A. While we have over 100 wineries within a 20-minute drive, we don’t recommend walking to any of them as they are down a steep and windy road from us.
Q. Do you have recommendations for wine tour companies or drivers? Is Uber or Lyft accessible there?
A. Lyft is more prevalent in wine country than Uber currently, but neither is very reliably consistent. A good option is hiring a wine tour company as they are very knowledgeable about the area, they have great connections with wineries, and you can be carefree and enjoy yourself. Upon reserving with us, we are happy to share our recommendations, based on what type of tour you are looking for.
Q. How many wineries should I plan on visiting each day and do I need reservations?
A. We find that our guests enjoy their experience more at each winery if they visit 3 – 4 a day. While in the past, you could pop into most wineries, these days, most wineries require appointments. We suggest you plan out your day ahead of time with reservation, allowing about 60-90 minutes plus travel time. If you are hoping to have a picnic at a winery, please call them to ensure that they allow food.
Q. Do I need reservations at restaurants in wine country?
A. Most fine-dining establishments in the area appreciate reservations. We recommend making them a few days to a week in advance during the busy season which runs from June – September. For a few of our restaurants, like The Painted Lady, Rosmarino, Joel Palmer House and Jory, we recommend making a reservation many months in advance. For more info on some of our area favorites, please see our “What To Do” page.
Q. Do people dress up in Oregon’s wine country?
A. As in most of Oregon, people tend to dress casual. If there is any real dressing up, it is usually saved for fine-dining experiences, and mostly at The Painted Lady and Joel Palmer House restaurants.
Q. How far are you from the Portland International Airport?
A. We are about 35 miles from PDX airport. Without traffic, it takes 45 minutes to an hour to get to the B&B. If you have a rental to drop off/pick-up and you consider heavier traffic, we recommend planning 1.5 hours for your journey.
Q. What are some great day-trips from the B&B?
A. As a Willamette Valley Wine Country B&B, we are centrally located within 1 – 2 hours from some of the top spots to visit on your trip to Oregon. Please visit our “Day-Tripping” page for more info on places to explore like the Oregon Coast, Mt. Hood and the Columbia Gorge.
Q. Can you walk to wineries or restaurants from the B&B?
A. While we have over 100 wineries within a 20-minute drive and amazing restaurants in Newberg, just a 10 minute drive, nothing is within walking distance. We are at 1000ft, with steep and windy roads.
