To-Go, Pick-up & Delivery Near Chehalem Ridge B&B in Newberg, Oregon
If you’re visiting Willamette Valley Wine Country and not sure where to get the food you love while in the area, we can help. As innkeepers of Chehalem Ridge B&B and locals that live and eat here, here we list some of the most popular food to-go options near us, in Newberg, Oregon. And because we’re in wine country and we can’t help it, we threw in some favorite local beverages to pair with the food you crave.
More Than a Slice at Odd Moe’s Pizza
Imagine you’ve just arrived back at Chehalem Ridge B&B from a day of wine tasting and have a bottle you just can’t wait to crack open, but you don’t want to leave the inn to go to a restaurant. You’re in luck! Pizza happens to pair terrifically with wine and local pizza maker’s Odd Moe’s delivers to the B&B! Other menu highlights include chicken wings (boneless or bone-in), potato poppers, and a huge 8” chocolate chip cookie that arrives warm… maybe you’ll have to eat your dessert before supper. Open for lunch and dinner every day. Call (971) 281-8987 for pick-up or delivery. Which Pinot Noir do we love with pizza? The easy drinking, velvety smooth Et Fille Pinot Noir.
Smokehouse BBQ at Storrs
But maybe you have a craving for some local comfort food. If ribs, brisket, a pulled pork sando or a bevy of chicken wings will do the trick, Storrs Smokehouse has you covered with all-things-BBQ, bringing tasty, southern recipes to the Northwest. Owned by the same folks who have Newberg’s fine dining restaurant The Painted Lady, the food here is meant to impress. Tip: don’t forget dessert. Their ice cream, in pints or sandwiches, is a delicious delight, made by The Painted Lady’s pastry chef! Open Wed – Sun for lunch and dinner. Call (503) 538-8080 for pick-up to-go orders. Some wine to go with this southern feast? The “Carignane” from Bravuro Cellars, an old vine red wine meant to be paired with smoky meats. Get it at their tasting room, right down the street from Storrs.
Sushi Time at Momiji
Sometimes nothing will do for dinner except sushi (at least for sushi lovers). Right off 99W in Newberg, Momiji has a full menu with everything from Sashimi, Nigiri and tempura, to hot dishes like fried rice, ramen noodle soups and Bento Boxes. Consistent, quick and easy with a drive-through window available. You can call (503) 487-6493 ahead for pick-up and make the 10 minute drive for take-out. Don’t want to leave the B&B? Get those rolls delivered through DoorDash. Open daily for lunch and dinner. For a perfect wine accompaniment, try a off-dry Riesling from one of Willamette Valley’s finest producers of the varietal, Trisaetum.
Traditional Mexican at Ixtapa
In Newberg, we aren’t short on Mexican food options, and a long-time neighborhood favorite is Ixtapa Restaurant, located smack dab in the middle of Downtown Newberg. They have all your favorites: nachos, tacos, burritos (you’re on vacation so try their deep-fried burrito goodness), fajitas, and, of course, chips and guacamole. Meat and vegetarian options too. Open Tues – Sun for lunch and dinner. Call (503) 538-5956 to place to-go orders for pick-up. We enjoy spicy food with a bottle of Sineann Sauvignon Blanc – the subtle aroma of passionfruit and the light body is a perfect combo.
Asian Fusion at Thai the Knot Asian Kitchen
At Thai the Knot in Newberg, right off of 99W, it’s hard to choose what to take back to the B&B for lunch or dinner. Should you get the crispy roll or the jalapeno pot stickers, the Holy Basil Wings or the coconut Prawns? And that’s only some of the appetizers. What about the main course? There’s a Grilled Chicken Teriyaki Bowl and the Creamy Tom Yum Salmon, the Eggplant Lover and Dungeness Crab Pad Thai among other freshly made creations. Diverse and flavorful, they are all great options to enjoy with a Willamette Valley white wine like Sokol Blosser’s Pinot Gris with its melon and citrus notes. Call Thai the Knot restaurant at (503) 538-8815 to order for pick-up to-go orders.
Hot & Tasty Pub Food at Chehalem Valley Brewing
If you have juicy burgers and sandwiches in mind, or hearty salads and guilty-pleasure appetizers, try the flavors of Newberg’s Chehalem Valley Brewing. Enjoy their delectable pub food (with gluten-free and vegetarian options too!) on the outdoor, covered patio or get it to-go with a growler of their micro-brewed ale. Their Hazelnut Brown Ale, made with local hazelnuts, tastes like Oregon in a pint glass. Guest taps and local wine options are also available on site. Located off 99W and tucked in behind Odd Moe’s Pizza and open Wed – Sun, hours vary. Call (503) 487-6259 to place to-go orders. Outside seating also available.
Cheese & Charcuterie at Good Company Cheese Bar & Bistro
What’s wine country without a coveted cheese and charcuterie board? Owned and operated by an actual Cheesemonger, Good Company will delight you with the quality of cheese they stock, but also with the other fine foods imported for your eating pleasure. A visit to this local gem (Tues – Sat) will give you plenty to choose from: meat and cheese boards ready to order or you can build your own, daily specials of gourmet sandwiches and soups, and shelves of pickled veggies, intriguing jams and spreads. And for beverages, you have a great selection of local and imported wine and beer to-go, plus cocktails (in a can!) brought to you by Portland’s own Straightaway Cocktails. Wine pairing recommendations? We love Alloro Vineyard’s fuller-bodied Chardonnay or the beautifully balanced Willamette Valley Pinot Noir from Holloran Vineyard Wines.
It’s All In a Bite at Bite of Newberg
If you and your traveling companion simply can’t decide on just one of these to-go food options, head over to Newberg’s food cart pod at the east end of Downtown Newberg. Bite of Newberg has a food truck for everyone: Thai, Caribbean BBQ, Burgers & Hot Dogs, American & Filipino Fusion, and Poke Bowls, and more. The Bite has an area of covered picnic tables, complete with propane heaters if you want to eat on site. Plus, next door you can grab a bottle at Chehalem Winery Tasting Room & Wine Bar. With so many wine varietals, you won’t have any problem finding the perfect pairing for your food-to-go. Pro tip: order your food, then go grab a bottle from the tasting room while you wait for your order to be freshly cooked.
